Interfaith Sports Program: Connection Camp

Al-Faisal Colleges was pleased to support student participation in the inaugural Connection Camp – Interfaith Harmony Sports Program held during the April school holidays on 14–15 April 2026 at the Wests Tigers Centre of Excellence, Concord. The program involved Years 3–6 students across the four Al-Faisal College schools and was delivered by the Western Sydney Wanderers and Wests Tigers in conjunction with Liverpool City Council, with sponsorship support provided by Mr Harry Triguboff, CEO of Meriton Group. The initiative provided students with a valuable opportunity to build friendships, teamwork, confidence, and community connections through sport and meaningful engagement with students from diverse backgrounds. Following the success of the program, Mr Harry Triguboff invited Mr Shafiq Abdullah Khan, Mrs Fayzah Saleh, Mrs Safia Khan Hassanein, and Mr Omar Hassanein to a morning tea at the Wests Tigers Centre of Excellence, where College representatives also had the opportunity to meet former NSW Premier Mr Barry O’Farrell, current Chair of the Wests Tigers. The program was exceptionally well received and highlighted the importance of interfaith and community initiatives that strengthen social cohesion and positive relationships amongst young people across Western Sydney.
